poetry month II (she didn’t laugh)

“Look at his sack,” she said and laughed

Pointing at a nude crammed into a box

It represents homosexuality and the struggle of coming out

It represents the demand of labor and how little connection we have

“Look at his sack,” she laughs and laughs

“Why are they laughing at his balls?”

“What’s funny about the human body-the human form?”

This is why I love you. You didn’t laugh. Your words about every human body, every human soul being beautiful came true in those moments because you didn’t laugh.
