Things no More

I won’t come home anymore
When momma dies

There will be a roof over our heads

But no home in our hearts

I think the fire place went cold
When momma died

The kitchen was never used again
No more sweet smelling bacon and eggs

And no brushing tears away
When momma dies

Sleepless nights will stay sleepless

No sweet lullabies

Or trust in Jesus
When momma dies

The family will no longer gather

And their will be no birthday cards
Coming in the mail
Signed dad&mom in momma’s hand writin’

We’ll all gather graveside
Throw our flowers
Say our goodbyes
And every prick and pinch
And thing that got beneath our skin

Will no longer be so
When momma dies
